BOO! Happy Halloween from Terray! 🎃

To kick off the spooky festivities, we created a Halloween scene for a pumpkin competition against the other boarding houses. The girls did an amazing job showcasing their talents, and we proudly took 2nd place, competing against some pretty impressive pumpkins! The girls had a blast dressing up for school, with some even coming in their full trick-or-treating outfits and makeup.

For dinner, we enjoyed a traditional cheese fondue, surrounded by fantastic decorations and costumes. Right after eating, we set off on a candy trail, stopping by the different boarding houses to collect as many sweet treats as we could carry.

Take a look below at the incredible costumes our girls put together—can you guess who’s who?

Happy Halloween!

International Dinner Wednesdays – India!

Tonight, we were treated to an exceptional culinary experience! Instead of having dinner in Léman as usual, we gathered in Eiger to enjoy delicious Indian food. The menu this evening included fluffy rice, flaky parathas, savory butter chicken, and creamy Mango Lassi! Everything was cooked to perfection, with some of our girls even saying this was their favorite International Dinner so far. Our Wednesdays are always made better by trying new foods, and today was no exception. Take a look at the beautiful foods we ate, and learn some fun facts about India as well! Happy Wednesday!

Arrive, Reunite, Unpack, Relax!

We are so happy to have a house filled with laughter and fun again! Most of the girls arrived today, bringing lots of their favorite snacks from home, warm winter clothes, and wonderful memories from their breaks.

After doing arrival photoshoots, the girls helped each other unpack, and then we all enjoyed a nice dinner together, going home straight after to give the girls a chance to unwind and relax after their travels. We had an early night tonight, ensuring the girls get as much rest as possible so they are fully energized for their first day back at school after break.

This week, we are all looking forward to a delicious Indian International Dinner, with Butter Chicken, Rice, and Parathas, as well as a fun, candy-filled Halloween, dressed up in the most amazing costumes!

Here’s to a great first week back at Terray and CDL!

Welcome Back!

J.B. Terray is officially open again, and we are so excited to greet all our students returning from an amazing October Break. We have missed the girls and can’t wait to hear about all the fun they had over the holiday! We hope everyone enjoyed time with family, friends, and familiar foods. Check back soon for photos of arriving, unpacking, and settling back into the wonderful routine here at J.B. Terray and CDL!

A taste of Japan!

This special international  dinner, we treated ourselves to a wonderful Japanese feast, a favourite for food lovers from all over the world. The experience was nothing short of delicious.

Last weekend before the holidays! 🍂

Dear all,

As the weather gets slightly colder, reminding us of the autumn season, the holidays are also approaching fast! The girls are very excited to ge going back home and we can’t wait to hear about all their fun memories.

This weekend was full of revision and preparation for summatives and formatives for the upcoming week. They did appreciate to spend time chilling at home, under a cossy blanket while watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Some other activities the girls were involved in include cooking, tennis and horse riding.

Have a great two weeks break when it comes and a nice start of the week.

Kind regards,

International Moroccan Dinner :-)

We had a wonderful dinner tonight inspired by the flavours of North Africa “Morocco”. The spices and aromas were exceptional, and we enjoyed a delicious lamb couscous  with a warm traditional salad served with small pitta bread. To top it off, we were served sweet mint tea and biscuits, making it an absolute treat!

A Love For Reading!

At Terray boarding house, we are passionate about encouraging our students to engage with and embrace reading in all its forms! We’ve introduced a daily habit where everyone reads for 20 minutes together and then shares a brief summary of their book. This not only fosters a love for reading but also sparks interest in different genres and titles across the group.

We’ve also brainstormed a few exciting activities to make reading even more interactive:

  • Design a book cover: Students can re-imagine the cover of a book they’re reading or create one for a book they would like to write.
  • Book swap: We’ll organise a fun book exchange where everyone can share their favourite reads.
  • Library visits: Setting aside a specific day to visit the school library to explore new books and genres.
  • Create your own comic book: Using templates, students can illustrate and write their own comic stories, blending creativity and reading.
  • Write and perform a short play: Students will work together to write a short play and perform it, using props and costumes from around the house.

The possibilities are endless, but our goal remains the same—to instil a love for reading as a lifelong hobby. I’m excited to share a few pictures that capture these wonderful moments in the house!
