ConchAttack (4) – (2) Galatasaray

“It’s all gone quiet over there, IT’S ALL GONE QUIET OVER THERE!” (Svenningsen, 2019)

After another victory last week, ConchAttach looked to extend their lead at the top of the league with another impressive performance against a very talented Galatasaray side. George lead the opposition side in great style in the first half, and were far more organised in comparison to the first time the two sides met at the beginning of the season. Galatasaray took the lead quite early on, and were giving the Concha boys a lot of problems in defence. They then extended their lead to 0-2 with some neat play from their forward players. However, ConchAttack started to play there freeflowing brand of football, and scored a superb “team goal” with Erik linking up with Sebastian on the halfway line, and Erik finishing in style in the bottom right corner.

Half Time – 1-2

After a stern team talk from Coach Griffiths (Pep), the boys came flying out for the second half, with a re-energised attitude. Masanobu, Erik and Sebastian immediately started to cause problems for the Galatasaray defence, and Leonardo and Maxim were becoming far more organised and composed in defence. It didn’t take long for our superstar forward, Masanobu to get on the scoresheet. (2-2) The boys were then in complete control, and rarely lost possession of the football. Masanobu won a freekick on the edge of the area, and Maxim blasted the ball into the top right corner, giving the ConchAttack team a 2-3 lead, with only 3 minutes remaining. In the last minute, Masanobu again gave the opposition nightmares, and managed to round the keeper and score to make the final score 2-4. A very hard earned victory against a good side and a very respectful group of boys!

Final Score – 2-4

Man of the Match – Masanobu

Scorers – Masanobu (2), Erik, Maxim

Team – Anuar, Maxim, Sina, Erik, Sebastian, Masanobu, Leonardo, Kristian

WELCOME BACK!

Dear Parents and Students,

The Boarding House is now open and we are ready to welcome back our boys. We have seven boys returning from Crans Montana where they have taken part in the ‘Ski Week’ over the holidays, skiing, snowboarding and participating in several activities. Those students will be arriving back very shortly this evening. We will also be welcoming back the remaining eight boys across the weekend, who have been home or on holiday with family and friends.

I hope you have had a wonderful week and I look forward to speaking to you soon!

Mr James

ConchAttack (3) – (2) Street Team

“We are top of the league, say we are top of the league!” (Svenningsen, 2019)

Tonight, we saw a scintillating performance from an ever improving ConchAttack side. An inspiring display from our Spanish heartthrob Mr Eriko, led the way with a hat trick, incredible work ethic and great communication throughout the match. The Street Team, made up of purely House Staff, could not cope with the speed, strength and organisation of the Grade 7 and Grade 8’s throughout the game.

Anuar, Masanobu, Sina, Max, Leo, Zihao and Said all represented the team very well, and performed to the highest level. It was also lovely to have Sina’s Father coming to support his son and the team.

Well done boys!

Mountain Weekend 2 – Crans Montana

Dear Parents,

I trust that you are well and are enjoying a good week.

This weekend, the Concha students will embark of their second Mountain Weekend in Crans Montana. We will leave on Friday afternoon and return on Sunday afternoon to the Boarding House. The students were very well behaved on the last trip, and enjoyed themselves. We will be staying in the same chalet, which is excellent, as the students will know their way around the area and they will be aware of the timings and the routine. The activities on offer this weekend includes Skiing, Snowboarding, RealFly, Snowtubing, Curling and Studying. Erik and I will be accompanying the Concha students whilst we are away, and we will be sure to take many photos and update the blog when we arrive back to CDL on Sunday. We will also have the experienced help of Mr Salva and Mr Rob in the chalet.

Kind regards,

Mr James
