Wellbeing Pillar 4 – Online Safety

Until the Spring holiday, we will be focusing on a new pillar of our Wellbeing programme. We will be exploring many different topics relating to the important issue of Online Safety. Technology is a very prominent thing within our culture today, and our children are exposed to lots of insecurities and unknowns when exploring online.

I asked the boys in the Boarding House, “What do we mean by Online Safety”. They came up with three brilliant points that are extremely important to bear in mind when you’re online.

  1. Don’t set passwords that is easy for other people to figure out.
  2. Don’t talk to people that you don’t really know.
  3. Don’t post things online that you don’t want everyone to see.

We were impressed to hear the boys come up with these areas and hear that they already have good knowledge about how they should behave and what they should be wary of online. Over the next weeks we will be talking to the boys about:

  1. What Goes Online, Stays Online.
  2. Who are your Friends/Followers?
  3.  Online Harassment.

Skiing in Verbier and La Tzoumaz

This Saturday saw the 5th and final ski day of the year. Due to COVID 19, our ski programme has looked slightly different this year, and was split into 5 separate days rather than full weekends. This way, the students have had the amazing opportunity to visit a different ski resort within Switzerland every week. The stunning views, the fun snow, and most importantly the the skiing/snowboarding was loved by all of the boys in Concha.
