Last night the boarding houses carved Pumpkins. The girls had great fun creating different works of art on their pumpkins. They are now scattered throughout the CDL campus.

CDL are currently collecting canned food for refugees in France. Yesterday Diana bought a considerable donation for the drive. This was a great act of kindness. Well done Diana!

Before the October break a group of New Portena girls tried out the new Italian restaurant in the dining room. This will happen every Thursday, an area of the dining room will be sectioned off and run as a restaurant. The theme of the restaurant will change throughout the year. The girls attended Italian night where they had an Anti-pasta, Pizza and a Tiramisu.

Before we left for the October Half term Margey and Ivy started doodling on the board. Their doodles turned in to quite the piece of art. There was a link to Greek Mythology – Pandoras box. The first picture shows the girls at work on the drawing, the second has the finished piece.

The house went on a house trip on Friday to Rust in Germany. We spent the night in a hotel and on Saturday visited Europapark. Europe’s 2nd largest theme park. The girls had a fabulous day at the park and rode as many of the roller coasters as they could in a day. The favourites were: Blue fire, Silverstar, Wooden and Euro star.

Here is a picture of Ivy and Paula enjoying their Friday evening chilling at Lac Leman. This is a 15 minute walk from campus and is a great place to go for some tranquility.

Paula hit the lake early on Saturday morning to show us what she could do. It was safe to say she is a pretty accomplished wakeboarder moving outside of both sides of the wake and jumping the wake several times.

Yuttie joined us in New Portena on Wednesday. She has got in to the full swing of things at CDL, getting stuck in at Horse Riding this weekend.

Some of the Girls went rafting last weekend. This was a Sunday sign up activity away from campus up in the mountains. Here the girls got kitted up and hit the rapids.
