Shopping day in Portena ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting our first House Activity in Portena, which was a delightful outing to The Village Outlet to enjoy a sunny Saturday.

The Christmas spirit was already in full swing, with the entire shopping center beautifully decorated with trees, lights, and festive ornaments๐ŸŽ„

The girls had a wonderful time shopping at the many stores and, more importantly, enjoying each other’s company, deepening their connections, and creating lasting memories together!

Lots of love,

Winter activities Begun: Secret Santa and Delicious Cookies!

This night we had our weekly meeting with all the students in the house, and it was an evening full of positive energy. We started by reviewing some of the important rules to make sure weโ€™re all on the same page, and then we discussed the exciting updates coming our way in the next few days. But the most exciting part of the meeting, without a doubt, was organizing our Secret Santaย for this winter.

All the girls will participate, and we can’t wait to see the surprises in store! It will be a chance to share special moments and strengthen our bonds as one big family. How exciting! Weโ€™re sure this winter will be unforgettable for all of us.

And to top it all off, Ms Fana and Ms Lauriane cooked some delicious cookies for us. They were absolutely amazing ๐Ÿช!

Between Wolves and Friends

Tonight in our house at Portena was incredible! After dinner, we organized a hangout with students from other houses to play Loup Garou, and the fun was non-stop. We all had many strategies to try to figure out who the wolves were among us. The excitement grew with each round, full of intrigue and a few surprises along the way.

The best part was seeing so many kids participating and enjoying themselves together, creating fun memories and strengthening friendships between houses. It was definitely a night to remember, and we’re already thinking about organizing more events like this in the future!

Thanks for coming,

Portena team!

Weekend Activities: Horse Riding, Gardening, and More at Our Boarding School

This weekend at our boarding school, students had the opportunity to engage in a variety of exciting and enriching activities. For those with a love for animals and the outdoors, horse riding was a highlight, offering a chance to bond with the horses while learning essential riding skills. Gardening enthusiasts also had a productive time planting and maintaining the school’s green spaces, while others got their hearts racing with fitness activities designed to build strength and endurance. In the kitchen, budding chefs honed their culinary talents, preparing delicious dishes and experimenting with new recipes. Intellectual minds came together in the chess club, where strategic thinking and friendly competition were the order of the day. Finally, adventurous spirits took to the climbing wall, testing their courage and skills while enjoying the thrill of reaching new heights. The weekend was a perfect blend of physical, creative, and mental challenges, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy and grow from.

Wrapping Up Kindness: The Gift Box Appeal

Today, our boarding school community came together for a special tradition: the annual Gift Box Appeal, where students wrapped gifts for children in need. This year, the gifts will be sent to poor families in Eastern Europe, bringing a little extra joy and hope to those who are facing difficult circumstances.

The Gift Box Appeal is a beautiful reminder of the true spirit of the seasonโ€”giving to those who need it most. For our students, itโ€™s not just about wrapping presents; itโ€™s about making a tangible difference in the lives of families facing hardship. The pride and fulfillment that comes from contributing to this cause are evident in everyoneโ€™s work. This tradition of kindness continues to grow each year, and weโ€™re excited to know that these small acts of generosity will bring joy to children in Eastern Europe who may not otherwise experience the magic of the holidays. Please see some pictures below.

Life After CDL: Graduates Share Wisdom on University and Beyond

Last evening, we had the privilege of welcoming two former students back to our school for an inspiring talk on “Life After CDL.” The two alumni, who have successfully navigated the transition from high school to university, shared invaluable insights with our current students about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Their visit was a refreshing reminder of the lasting bonds between CDL and its graduates, as well as a fantastic opportunity for our students to hear firsthand what comes after graduation.

More than just a Q&A session, their talk was filled with personal stories, tips, and encouragement to help students feel confident and prepared for the next chapter of their academic journey. For many of our students, hearing about the experiences of former CDL students who had once sat in the same classrooms provided not just guidance, but a sense of reassurance that they, too, could succeed in the world beyond our school. Thanks for coming!!!

More Than Just Pajamas: The Power of Friendship in Boarding School

Last weekend, some girls from our house had pajama party at a nearby villa, and it was a perfect example of the deep friendships that can flourish in a boarding school environment. Most of the group was Brazilian, which added an extra layer of warmth and energy to the evening. Everyone wore matching black shirts and black-and-white plaid pants. They spent the night cooking together, singing along to their favorite songs, and sharing stories, all while enjoying each other’s company.

A brief weekend getaway to Lucerne ๐Ÿคฉ

This weekend, the girls from Portena had an unforgettable experience in Lucerne. It was the perfect opportunity to disconnect from school and enjoy some well-deserved downtime!

The weekend was filled with stunning views and exciting activities. One of the highlights was taking the cable car up to the top of Mount Pilatus โ›ฐ๏ธ, where they were treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding lakes. The girls also explored local museums, soaking up culture and history.

Overall, the girls had an amazing time on their trip to Lucerne. It was a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and exploration. They returned to school feeling refreshed, with new memories and experiences to cherish. It was a weekend well spent, and everyone agrees it was an unforgettable getaway!
