This was a rainy weekend, but the weather din’t stop us and we have enjoyed many activities, like volleyball, Crossfit, Horse Riding, and also a visit to the Chillon Castle in Montreux.
Another great weekend for CDL boarders! Our students have been able to go biking, play tennis, try photography, and even participate in the annual lake cleaning!

The Villa du Lac girls
Yesterday evening, our grades 9 and 10 went to a wellbeing workshop organised by the boarding school and our counselor, Miss Jody. We all learned about expressing and dealing with our emotions. Then we worked in small groups and tried to solve scenarios, understand our feelings, and how to be a good listener. It was lovely to see our girls listening to each other and creating a safe space for everyone to feel welcome to share their feelings. In the pictures, you can see a drawing at the center of the table: it is the wheel of emotions, to help students find the right words for the right feeling. The students are showing with their hands how ‘full’ is their emotional jar.

Yesterday afternoon, all the boarding houses met for a very special event… Sports competition day! We played against the New Portena girls. And our Villa Du Lac team won ! It was a lovely sunny day, so the ideal weather to play outside.
It was so nice to see our girls having fun and motivating each other. This sense of solidarity and fair-play is part of the VDL spirit.

We have started our Wellbeing Program with the Pilar 1: Healthy Bodies and Minds. The girls are choosing their projects and some great ideas are arising. During the next weeks, we will cover important topics such as nutrition, exercise, and emotional regulation. We are happy with the very enthusiastic attitude in the house.
