Basketball Evening 🏀

The weekend is finally here and the kids take advantage of their free time to do activities they cannot usually do on a daily basis. Gianni, Tim, Jiarui and Fanbo spent the evening playing basketball together in the Olympus Basketball Court. Sports and actual communication can give our kids way more than screens can, well done! 👏🏻

Emir on the stage

Today, Emir took part in the monthly Assembly, where he spoke about the Nowruz celebration alongside Seyed and Paria 🌸🎉. It was wonderful to see Emir stepping up and sharing such an important tradition with the community. His confidence and maturity were clearly visible, showing how much he has grown over time. Emir is truly becoming a strong voice for others, and it was inspiring to watch him represent himself and his culture so well 🙌👏.

Nathan had quite a busy and exciting day today 🎉. The morning started with everyone singing him Happy Birthday 🎂, which brought smiles all around 😊. Later in the evening, after enjoying a nice dinner 🍽️, he returned to the house and went straight into rehearsals for the upcoming talent show 🎭. As it ended up being quite late 🌙 and everyone was tired after giving their best during practice 💪, we decided to skip singing Happy Birthday a second time and went directly to sharing and enjoying the birthday cakes together 🍰.

Today, 14 years ago, Juze was born! 🤩

It was a very busy day for him. In the early morning, everyone rushed to wish him a happy birthday and after school, Juze and his closest friends went for dinner to a nice restaurant here in Versoix! Also, once all the kids were settled in the house, we sang “Happy Birthday” to him and ate a cheesecake together. All in all, a good day to remember 🥳

Joe’s Triumph in Geneva! ⚽️🏆

Today was a very important day for Joe!

We all know he’s very keen on football and trains quite a lot every week. Today, he took part in the ADISR Senior Girls and Boys Football Tournament at the Stade de Blanché and he came back home this afternoon with a trophy! We cannot express in words how proud we are, Joe! We encourage you to keep it up and work even harder to become a worldwide recognised football player. You got this, mate! 🙌🏻

The art of making Churros 🥣

Churros are a classic treat that may seem simple, but they hold an undeniable charm and flavour that stem from the attention to detail in their preparation. At first glance, churros might appear to be just a straightforward recipe, but the magic lies in the process. The dough is not complicated, but it requires careful handling and patience to get just right. It’s not about following an intricate recipe, but rather about being consistently attentive and focused on each step to achieve the perfect result.

Once you’ve carefully prepared the dough, the next step is crucial: shaping it. While many recipes suggest using machines, there’s something special about shaping churros by hand. This step helps to strengthen the dough’s texture and ensure it holds its form during frying. Hand-shaping allows for the right balance between thickness and consistency, making sure each churro cooks evenly and comes out with the perfect bite.

When it’s time to fry, attention to detail remains essential. The temperature of the oil plays a huge role in achieving the right texture. A new weekend club is now available in CDL, Karate Club! Zhengtai was keen to be one of the first to sign up and practice this from of martial arts.

On the other hand a more delicate art, cooking, with Daniel and Juze. Together they made a delicious meal that the scoffed down as soon as it was ready!

Swiss Snowfall

Recalling back to a blog post we made earlier this week where we mentioned the weather was clearing up and we are on our way to welcome Spring, it seems like the Swiss meteo wants to throw a spanner in the works – it’s snowing!

Overnight we had a small snowfall here in Collège du Léman, just enough to cover some of the bushes and field. We’ll make sure to wrap up warm and enjoy this little frosty treat.

Concha Boys – Saturday Climbing Club

Climbing Club is always a great choice and a popular one with the boys here in Concha.

Today João showed great determination and never gave up. Eduardo focused on muscle training, triceps and shoulders. Henrique was brave and eager to improve. Firdavs’ climbing level has moved to the next level. Manuel Enrique has a natural talent for this sport, with a little more focus on technique and power, we’re sure he’ll dominate the climbing gym.

Concha’s Personal Sushi Chef

Fanyang’s newest cooking endeavour has been making his own sushi. He had help from his Sous Chef, Juze, who cooked the rice to perfection. Fanyang mastered quickly the art of rolling up each sushi roll and carving them with precision.
