Peaceful Evenings

Reading Club, it’s become synonymous with calm Thursday evenings in Concha Boarding House.

Quiet, focused and deeply immersed in our books, we dive into new worlds, meet new characters and explore these new surroundings that the authours describe so well. They have us hanging on every word with thick plots and unexpected twists.

The Reading Club’s relaxed mood is contagious and the whole house feeds off this serene atmosphere, getting everyone ready for bed in a smooth, calm way.

Another great read.

Selamat Makan! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ

One Thursday a month, we get to try food from a different country in the house, as part of the “Dinner at Home” initiative at school.

Today, it was Indonesia’s turn, and the kids really enjoyed it! We had the opportunity to try a typical Indonesian rice dish called “nasi goreng” and some poultry. Coconut cakes were the dessert option and some of the kids decided to have two or even three!

It was absolutely gratifying seeing all the kids sitting together in the living room, enjoying their food while chatting about the things they like. Moments like this are pretty much bonding! It is also a great way to give a sneak peak of the weekend, and if it is like this, it is going to be fine! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Out In The Garden

Concha Blanca garden is one of the most magical places on campus. We need to make the most of this amazing green-space. Now that the weather has been clearing up, we have set up the practice net and got out some of the golf clubs.

With a garden this big it’s okay if some shots stray off from the target…

Nice shot!

Sunday Funday ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Although Sunday might be a synonym for “boring” or “rest” for many people, for our Concha boys it is still an opportunity to take advantage of some of their leisure time during the weekend.

They get to enjoy a very nice brunch at the Lรฉman Cafeteria and then, they go to their activities. Hiking and tennis were the preferred activities today. It’s great how the kids choose sport as a way to disconnect! Others decided to take on a Chess challenge, which is pretty much helpful to shape their concentration and critical thinking skills โšก๏ธ

After this, it was high time to do some homework and tidy their rooms up. Everything must be ready to kick off the upcoming week!

Fanyang went on a hike! ๐Ÿšถ

If someone does not look at you in the same way Martin looks at the chess board, then they don’t love you!

Firdavs and Javi went for a nice dinner with Firdavs’ dad!

Finally Saturday! ๐Ÿฅณ

It’s another busy Saturday at the Concha Boarding House! As usual, the kids took part in some of the weekend activities offered in the morning. While some of them went for cooking to shape their skills and be able to prepare delicious dishes for their parents in a nearby future, others preferred to do some sport, such as running or climbing. After lunch, they headed to Geneva, where they can go shopping, grab a meal in their favourite restaurants and most importantly, enjoy the weather! This weekend, the weather is being amazing so far – the sun has been up every single hour! This is ideal to walk around Versoix or Geneva and get the best view of the lake.

What will our Concha boys be up to tomorrow? We will see! ๐Ÿ‘€
