生日快乐 Matthew

It was a strange day in a strange week—Tuesday, though it felt like a Thursday. With half the house away on a short outing, the remaining students gathered to celebrate Matthew’s birthday, singing to him and sharing their best wishes. As a special treat, Matthew also had the chance to go to Geneva with Vincent to enjoy a meal.

Happy birthday Matthew!

Seussical Time! 🎶

Today, the Middle Schoolers went to beautiful Nyon to see “Seussical JR”, this year’s CDL musical production.

This year, selected talented students have come up with a imaginative musical that brings Dr. Seuss’s world to life. From the Jungle of Nool to the tiny town of Whoville, the Concha boys were impressed by the catchy tunes, storytelling and unforgettable characters like the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, and JoJo the Thinker. CDL’s Performing Arts Programme provides our students with a rich, world-class arts education, offering them access to professional expertise and inspiring opportunities to grow as confident performers.

The kids had a blast and, as they came back home quite hungry, we had some time to have dinner together while discussing our favourite moments of the musical!

Busy Weekend For The Concha Boys ☀️

As the good weather is coming up, the Concha kids take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to go out and carry out plans they cannot normally do during colder times.

As usual, they went to their weekend activities – this week they mainly joined wakeboard, golf and climbing – and enjoyed some sunny Geneva time with their friends, eating their favourite meals in some of the best spots in town and buying things they were craving. All in all, a funny weekend to kick off the good weather season!

Fanyang and Rochelle from Villa du Lac had some Thai soup at home!

Tim and Fanbo love spending some time in the Olympus Basketball Court in the afternoons

Eduardo really enjoyed last time so he couldn’t help but practice wakeboard again!

On Sunday afternoon, we visited Yvoire (France) for a couple of hours.

DJs On The International Day! 🎧🌍

Today, it was the International Day at school, where all the kids got to celebrate their diverse backgrounds by bringing flags and decorations from their countries of origin as well as some food for everyone (students, teachers and staff) to try.

There was also music, played by our favourite Concha DJs, Emir and Eduardo, with the help of the best assistants they could have asked for, Joao and Henrique. They nailed it and everyone absolutely loved their performance!

You can tell Emir takes DJing seriously!

¡Vamos, Eduardo!

Who Is The Quiz Whiz?

We had 4 strong members form a team of super brains for the Internation Quiz, earning points for us in the House Competition! The Concha Lads competed against the other Boarding Houses in quizes about international knowledge, geography and flags.

Our boys competed very well and took home with them many points to help us move up on the overall scoreboard.

Well done Concha Lads!

Training For A Long Ride

Another fantastic goal we want to acheive with the Middle School students this year is to cycle around Lac Leman. Of course this is a big task so we must start with small steps. This Sunday the children, led by staff, cycled to Nyon and back to Versoix. A great starter to help improve stamina and road saftey.

Zhengtai is ready to ride!

24 Hour Relay Run For Charity

Boarding is always busy and we have so many options for clubs and activities but we still find time to add in more. This weekend we set up a fundraiser for cancer research that the children and staff could donate to and take part in.

We set up a 24 hour relay run! Staff and students took part by running in slots of 30 minutes from 11:00am Saturday until 11:00am Sunday. Some students wanted to run more than their allocated slot which was amazing to see. The enthusiasm and dedication to such a great cause is truly inspiring.

Thank you to all who helped make this happen!

Climbing Club

Always a pleasure to have some of our boys from Concha join the Climbing Club. We have been working hard every weekend, drawing in more crowds to join this awesome group activity.

João has shown his upper body strength has improved massively, going straight into the cave and doing the most outrageous overhanging climbs. After a while his arms were too pumped to continue this rythm so he slowed things down and focused on footwork, body-position and balance as he moved over to the slab wall.

Martin and Fanbo are such natural climbers and have been leveling up fast. They work together as a team and always push each other to do more. So great to see them in this positive enviroment and truly encouraging themselves to try their best.

May’s Assembly

During this month’s assembly, which took place in bright sunshine and fresh air, many significant points were covered.

Mr Antonio presented the charity projects to the students, encouraging everyone to participate and have a positive impact on the local and global community. The first of these will be the 24-hour fun run challenge. It will collect money for thyroid cancer research.

Just 10 points from the podium! We fought, we competed, and we’re almost there! We can easily reach the podium if we maintain our competitive mindset and determination to win. As Optimus Prime said, ‘No victory without sacrifice’.

We were extremely excited to see the new boarding trips planned for the 2025/26 academic year, with exclusive destinations such as Monaco, Nice, Costa Rica and Florence.

Mr Mike presented the schedule for the coming weeks, which includes some exciting projects, such as a trip to Ticino — Switzerland’s most beautiful canton — and the Adventure Middle School Léman Journey. This involves cycling around Lake Léman, also known as Lake Geneva.

The Fitness Challenge has been a huge success, with today’s challenge being the Flip Bottle.

Mr Usher took the time to introduce a positive mindset and a variety of new activities that will be taking place over the next few weeks, particularly the water sports such as sailing and wakeboarding.
