Happy Chinese New Year / Xīnnián kuàilè

On Friday 12th February, we celebrated the Chinese New Year.

祝你牛年吉祥

This is the year of the Ox. Oxen are the hard workers in the background, intelligent and reliable, but never demanding praise.

The dining room was decorated to add some atmosphere to the occasion and the kitchen really impressed us with the meal provided.

It is important in the International community that we have in boarding, that we share in each other’s celebrations.

This links in with our first wellbeing pillar of promoting Diversity.

It was a wonderful occasion, enjoyed by all. We wish all our family and friends a successful and prosperous year.

Ski day #3

A sandstorm all the way from the Sahara desert swept across the alpes, leaving absolutely stunning views. The skies were glowing with fascinating colours and there was plenty of fun had by all as the Concha boys whizzed down the mountains on their skis.

Building positive friendships…… through sport!!

For their chosen individual projects for the latest pillar of wellbeing, building positive friendships, Loris, Bernardo and Yuto decided to use sport to form stronger connections with each other. We realised that no matter what team you are on, plenty of encouragement, laughter and positivity can help form a stronger bond. These lads all get on really well with each other and it is such a positive thing that something as amazing as sport can help maintain these nice friendships.

‘Building’ positive friendships

Congratulations to Liam and Owen for already completing their individual projects for our third pillar of wellbeing – Building Positive Friendships. The boys chose to complete a LEGO project together. We are so proud of the teamwork and sharing skills they have shown us.

Ski Day Number 1

Yesterday saw the first Ski day of the season!! Groups of students went to beautiful mountain resorts in Leysin and Villars. It was a glorious day with amazing snow. All of our boys did brilliantly and enjoyed skiing very much. We now recharge our batteries, brush off the snow from our skis, and prepare for the next one next weekend. Well done boys.
