Last weekend, CDL students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Rome! Among them were Lulu and Yufei from New Portena Boarding House, adding their spark to the adventure.

They visited the Vatican, where they explored St. Peter’s Square and marveled at the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. They wandered through Rome’s iconic landmarks, from the Pantheon to the Trevi Fountain, with some shopping time thrown in.

The next day, it was Lulu’s 15th birthday! 🎂 The day was packed with history as they toured the Colosseum and the Roman Forum . A quick lunch break, and it was time to bid farewell to the Eternal City.✈️🇮🇹

Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of Lulu who came back from the trip in Rome.

While Ashley, Vlady, Adela and Lily were making some very tasty raspberry soufflé crêpes in Eiger cafeteria and Ella and Sofiia were engaging in their weekly habit of decontracting stress accumulated in the stretching and relaxation activity, last weekend Ana Cristina and Gergana they were very enthusiastic to join pilates.

Getting out of one’s own daily routine is very important for mental and physical health and Hanna has found a great relaxation habit: going out with a sweet dog called Dixie four/five times per week.

Indeed spending time with animals not only is incredibly therapeutic but it also helps to reduce stress and facilitate social interaction.

Since the beginning of the school, we have done our best for creating an uplifting and motivational atmosphere inside the House and among the girls by sending them self-reflection good morning and good night messages in different languages as well as with “take a smile” and “take a hug” post-it which can brighten students’ days.

While all the other girls of New Portena were enjoying the second ski weekend in Leysin, Paulina, Melissa, Ana Cristina and Maria Fernanda spent two sunny ski days in Crans Montana.

This past weekend, the Grade 9s and 10s of New Portena embarked on an exhilarating journey to Leysin, where sunny skies set the stage for a winter wonderland adventure. They tried skiing, snowboarding, and even ice skating. To chill out, some of the girls relaxed in the thermal baths.
