Some of the girls went on the Sunday activity to Gruyere. They had an hour to explore the quaint town before we moved on to Masion Cailler. This is the chocolate factory museum. It starts with a history in to the cacao bean and how chocolate originated and then goes through to a tasting. The girls got to taste 12 different samples of their chocolate.

Every year the Boarders head to the Kempinski in Geneva for a Christmas Dinner and Dance. This was a great night and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

On Monday the New Portena Girls started decorating the House for Christmas. We had a lot of fun creating a wonderful winter atmosphere. The tree was decorated by Ivy, her first time decorating a Christmas tree.

Last week for Thanksgiving we asked the girls to write down one thing they are thankful for.

Many of the girls went to the Christmas Market in Montreux on Sunday. A great day out in Montreux and the start to the Christmas festivities.

The girls in the house worked together to create Christmas gift boxes. This is a great charity which provides children living below the poverty line in Eastern Europe a Christmas present. The girls had fun compiling the necessary items which go in to the box such as; shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushes, stuffed toys, exercise books and pens.

Yesterday Arin, Anya, Margey, Ayaka and Ivy took part in the Masterchef House Competition.

Anya and Ivy created a Tasty Thai style Fried rice with Giant Shrimp  and Margey, Ayaka and Arin created Vanilla and Banana Freakshake.
