Proud of Our Girls at the Escalade Run in Geneva❤️

This Sunday’s Escalade Run in Geneva was one for the books. While most people were still debating whether to leave the comfort of a warm home, our girls laced up their shoes, braved the cold and showed up with the kind of determination that makes us incredibly proud.🥰

The weather was far from ideal but it did not stopped them.🌧 Instead of complaining, they smiled, warmed up together and took on the course with an inspiring mix of grit and joy.

Watching them run, push forward and support each other despite the conditions reminded us why this event is so special. It’s not just about crossing the finish line; it’s about resilience, camaraderie and the confidence that comes from doing something difficult.

To our amazing girls: you showed true spirit on Sunday.🏃‍♂️

🏆Celebrating Our Girls✨

This Wednesday, we gathered for our Boarding Awards🥳, a special chance to celebrate our boarders and all they bring to our community. The evening highlighted the girls’ hard work, positivity and the many ways they support one another throughout the year. It was lovely to acknowledge their individual and collective achievements and to celebrate the positive energy they bring to our boarding community each day.

Our girls continue to impress us with their enthusiasm, kindness, commitment and we appreciate the ongoing support of our boarding families.🫶🏻

Where Quiet Excellence Shines🌟

Some people carry a quiet kind of magic with them and Chihana is one of those people. Watching her on the football pitch is like watching a candle flame in the wind that somehow never goes out – steady, bright and determined. She plays for the under-18s, the under-21s and our Panthers, moving with a calm confidence that makes you think – yes, that’s what possibility looks like.

And in the classroom, that same flame shows up too.✨ She just works, learns, grows. Her effort is soft but constant, the kind of excellence that grows quietly before it’s noticed.

Chihana reminds us that excellence isn’t loud or shiny. It’s a steady light – something you almost feel before you see. And around her, you do feel it: in the way she tries, the way she lifts others, the way she shows up again and again with heart.

We’re grateful she’s part of our Boarding House. She doesn’t just do things well – she makes the space around her warmer.💖

🏰From Disneyland to Montreux: A Memorable Weekend for Our Boarders 🎆

This weekend, the Portena girls embraced a wonderful mix of activities both on and off campus. One of the biggest highlights was our annual trip to Disneyland Paris! From meeting their favourite characters to enjoying thrilling rides, the students had an incredible weekend away, and returned with stories, photos and memories they will cherish for years to come 🎢
Back on campus, our usual weekend activities took place, including Cooking Club, Art Club, Tennis Club, Pilates, Stretching and many more. Adela also took part in Gardening Club, where the group helped prepare the garden for the winter season 🍂🌲
Today, a group of students visited Switzerland’s famous Montreux Christmas Market. Against the backdrop of Lake Geneva and festive alpine scenery, they wandered among the wooden chalets, tasted seasonal treats and discovered beautiful handmade gifts. The soft lights and holiday atmosphere made it a truly magical afternoon 💫
In addition to these outings, some girls opted for quieter on-campus activities such as reading, studying or simply spending time with friends around the boarding house 🌷
Overall, it was a joyful weekend filled with wonderful moments and lasting memories ❤️💛🧡

🌟 My Safe Space, My Style!

Daniela recently led a warm and uplifting activity with the junior girls in Grades 8 and 9, inviting them to create drawings or collage-style pieces representing their personal SAFE spaces🌄- places they can turn to when feeling nervous, anxious, or stressed. The girls fully embraced the task, expressing their emotions and comfort zones through colour, imagery, and creativity. The final pieces were beautiful and heartfelt, and the activity became a powerful moment of connection and reflection for the whole group. It was an amazing experience they shared together. 🫶

Our Girls Shine at the U19 Nord Anglia European Volleyball Tournament in Madrid🤾🏽‍♀️

This past weekend, our boarding girls proudly represented CDL at the U19 Nord Anglia European Volleyball Tournament in Madrid – and what a weekend it was!🤍

Coach Irina and Mr. Andrews had the pleasure of accompanying the team, and both shared how impressed they were by the students’ behavior and spirit. The girls were respectful, mature, and an absolute joy to travel with.

And their performance? Outstanding. The team delivered an exceptional showing, bringing home not just one, but two victories!

We are incredibly proud of their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to our amazing girls on a fantastic tournament!✌️

🥰Portena Weekend: Rest, Recharge & a Sprinkle of Early Christmas Magic✨

This weekend in Portena was exactly what we needed – a perfect balance of rest and just the right amount of adventure to recharge for the week ahead.😍

We spent our days moving, laughing, and trying new things. From tennis rallies to surprisingly competitive badminton matches, the girls kept the energy high. We also made room for some calm with stretching sessions.

But the unexpected star of the activity list? Wood crafting (see the proof below).

And of course, the highlight that truly stole the show was our visit to the Montreux Christmas Market. 🎄Sparkling lights, festive music, delicious treats and the magical lakeside atmosphere made it feel like we stepped straight into a Christmas movie. The girls wandered the market and soaked up the holiday spirit.

We’re heading into the new week refreshed, recharged, and smiling.🫶

Warning: Highly Creative Girls at Work!👩‍🎨

This Friday night the boarding house was bursting with creative chaos as the girls transformed their pink house hoodies into fashion masterpieces. Patterns were flying, decisions were dramatic and ironing suddenly became fun.✨

With snacks, plenty of giggles and lots of “Does this look good here?”, the night was full of energy and colour. The girls loved showing off their unique designs and we loved seeing their personalities shine.

A simple, cosy, super-fun Friday night together! 💗

A Weekend of Activities, Friendship, and Giving Back🫶

This weekend, the Portena girls enjoyed a wide range of activities here on campus. As always, Cooking Club was a popular choice, and this week the students learned how to make fried rice. Others took part in more competitive activities such as tennis, badminton and chess, while some preferred relaxed exercise classes including dance club, Pilates and stretching. Today, a group of boarders headed out for an afternoon of bowling and had a great time playing alongside students from the other boarding houses.
Over the past few weeks, Collège du Léman has raised money for the annual Gift Box Appeal🎁, during which we purchase gifts and wrap them so they can be donated to less privileged children around the world. This project helps provide practical items and small gifts that can bring a moment of joy to children facing challenging circumstances. We are very proud of our students for getting involved in initiatives like this and thank them for contributing to such a meaningful cause.✨
Overall, it was a balanced weekend that allowed everyone to unwind, take part in activities they enjoy, socialise with friends, and support something positive beyond CDL.

✨A Weekend Full of Fun and Adventure for Our Girls

What a fantastic weekend it’s been for our boarding girls! The campus was full of laughter and activities as some of the girls spent their days cooking delicious treats, playing tennis or even testing their driving skills with a round of exciting karting. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves, relaxing, and simply having fun together after a busy week at school.

Meanwhile, a group of our more adventurous girls headed off for an unforgettable weekend in Barcelona. After a breakfast at the hotel, they started their day exploring La Pedrera (Casa Milà) – Gaudí’s incredible masterpiece that left everyone amazed by its creativity and beauty. Later, they visited the world-famous Sagrada Familia. The evening was full of rhythm and colour with a Spanish Guitar and Flamenco Show, followed by a cozy dinner by the beach – the perfect end to a beautiful day. On Sunday, they visited Camp Nou, Barcelona’s legendary football stadium.

By the time they returned to school, the girls were tired but smiling, full of stories and memories from a truly special weekend. Whether they stayed on campus or travelled to Spain, it was wonderful to see them all so happy, connected and enjoying every  moment.✨❤️
