Happy New Year and welcome back to all our girls who are returning today. We missed you! We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and holiday with your family and friends.

It’s been a very busy weekend for Old Portena- and our last weekend before the Christmas   holidays, how quickly the time has gone! Sophie and Herluce were part of a fantastic dance show, Aya, Helen, Irina and Alessia played lots of tennis and many of our girls visited Gruyere today and the Callier Chocolate Factory.

This evening Mr Salva from Champ des Bois boarding house made us some delicious pizza and apple cake- what a great way to start the weekend, thank you!

We’ve had a busy weekend in the house and lots of sporting achievements- Irina won her volleyball tournament and Sofia and Katya played four football matches on Saturday and won them all, a very big congratulations girls! Today we visited the Christmas markets in Montreux for some shopping and also had a Christmas market at school which Sophie and Herluce enjoyed going to! 

This weekend we had the Masterchef House Competition where we made a three course meal for the judges. We shall wait to see how we did! Sophie and Herluce had a sporty weekend and did boxing on Saturday and squash on Sunday. Erika, Yuna, Katia and Irina also seemed to enjoy the boxing class from our photos- well done girls!

Thank you Scarlett for sending us some fantastic decorations and thank you to Paulina for putting together a great display! 

This weekend we celebrated Aya’s and Scarlett’s birthdays who turned 14 and 15 on Sunday. We celebrated together in the evening with lots of pizza and a delicious birthday cake! Scarlett, Alessia, Sofia, Irina and Sophie also went on our rafting activity- we had a fantastic time racing down the river in France and (somehow) managed to keep all aboard! 😉

Sunday also saw the return of the House Cheer Competition, the girls made a great effort with rehearsals this week and came up with some fun dance moves. We shall be finding out how we scored soon!
