Yesterday we went to the Botanic Gardens as there was no school. There were amazing colourful flowers. Then we walked into town and did our shopping. It was a great sunny day but we were very tired afterwards. Thanks to Rosana and Jamie for taking photos for us!

We have two new boarders in Old Portena,Daria and her sister, Anna and tonight we will have Tamara.It is nice to have new friends in our  house .On friday night we had movie night with our duvets and cake. We watched Bride Wars. On Sunday we made multicolored cake which was very nice. We made jewelry for our hand bags or a necklace. Before bed time on Sunday we had study hall and Joanne made us hot chocolate with whipped cream and colorful bits.

We went in a Hummer to the Christmas dance – it was so cool when we went around Geneva. When we got to the dance we had a nice meal and we danced a lot and we never wanted to leave because it was so fun.

After dinner Old Portena took two big pumpkins to cut and make a scary face. It was a fun activity because it made us laugh a lot but it was very messy too. Then we looked at all the other pumpkins and took a group photo. We still think that Old Portena’s pumpkin was the best! 🙂  (Julia T. Grade 8)
