Dear All,
Tonight for International Dinner, we had a special Swiss treat as we celebrated Candlemas. It is a Catholic and Orthodox holiday typically celebrated 40 days after Christmas on February 2nd. It is a festival of lights, and in Switzerland, it is celebrated with a feast of crêpes or pancakes.
Tonight we enjoyed a delicious savoury buckwheat crêpe with turkey and bechamel topped with an egg, alongside delicious leeks and rice. There was also a vegetarian option featuring cheese. The star of tonight’s meal was the expertly prepared dessert crêpe station, complete with sugar for dusting, warm chocolate sauce, and almond or chocolate ice cream. Of course we all had to grab seconds of this delightful dessert!
