International Dinner – Singapore

Dear All,

Tonight, we had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious Singaporean-inspired dinner. Our talented chefs crafted an incredible menu featuring options for everyone, including meat, seafood, and tofu. Guests could choose chicken, shrimp, or tofu satay served over a generous bed of noodles or rice. The meal was complemented by a flavorful broccoli stir-fry and roasted peppers that added just the right amount of heat.

To finish the evening on a sweet note, we indulged in a refreshing coconut pineapple cake topped with vanilla crème.

Fun fact about Singapore: more than 40% of its city is covered in trees, making it one of the greenest cities in the world!

Stay tuned for next week’s international dinner—Morocco!

Welcome Back Assembly!

Dear All,

Tonight, we had the pleasure of attending our very first boarding assembly of 2026! This assembly was particularly special, as it gave us the opportunity to warmly welcome our newest students into our vibrant boarding community.

The evening began on a high note with a beautiful acoustic performance of Passionfruit, sung by Tanya from Villa du Lac. Her performance set a calm and uplifting tone as we then greeted our new boarders with enthusiastic applause and cheers, showing just how excited we are to have them join us.

We then heard from the Villa du Lac and Portena House Parents, who delivered an engaging and heartfelt presentation on the power of hugs and the important role connection and care play in our everyday lives. Their interactive talk reminded us of the strength of kindness and community within boarding.

To conclude the assembly, Mr. Mike, our Boarding Activity Coordinator, shared an exciting overview of the fantastic trips planned for second semester, and new regular weekend activities on offer such as Woodworking Club. With such a wide variety of experiences on offer, there truly is something for everyone. Below, you will find a link outlining the trips available in the first half of 2026–make sure you register as soon as possible to secure your spot!

A Night of Poutine!

Dear All,

Tonight we enjoyed another wonderful International Dinner—this time celebrating the flavors of Canada! The meal was an absolute hit, highlighted by crispy French fries piled high with rich poutine gravy, warm cheese, and tender, melt-in-your-mouth pulled beef. Alongside this Canadian classic, we served perfectly roasted carrots and beets, plus a hearty Cobb salad loaded with avocado, tomatoes, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, and chicken.

And for dessert? Nothing more fitting than fluffy pancakes! They came with an irresistible selection of toppings, from whipped cream to strawberry, chocolate, and toffee syrups. It was such a treat that many of us couldn’t resist going back for seconds—or even thirds.

Stay tuned for our next International Dinner adventure!

A Very Special Dinner at Home!

Dear All,

This evening,  St. Loup 4 and St. Loup 9 joined forces to share a truly memorable dinner together in the cozy dining space of St. Loup 4.

We wanted to make the most of the unique warmth that dinners at home provide—so we took it a step further and decided we’d all pull up a chair and celebrate community all together. The result was a lively, laughter–filled gathering centered around a delicious Indonesian-inspired feast. On the menu was fragrant Nasi Goreng—Indonesia’s beloved fried rice—served with tender chicken, perfectly fried eggs, and a side of creamy coleslaw. To finish, we enjoyed a refreshing mango-coconut shortbread dessert that felt like the perfect sweet finale.

As wonderful as the meal was, the true highlight of the night was the sense of togetherness it created. Sharing a table as neighbors, friends, and fellow boarders reminded us just how special our community truly is.

While this was our first dinner at home as two houses joined together, it certainly won’t be our last!

Thanksgiving at CDL 🦃🍂🥰

Dear All,

This evening we enjoyed an incredible Thanksgiving feast prepared by the talented chefs here at CDL.

The star of the menu was turkey, of course, but in the true Thanksgiving spirit, we also had tons of side dishes to choose from, including corn on the cob, roasted sweet potatoes and carrots, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a homemade cranberry sauce. To top it off, we had two delicious desserts to choose from–an apple crumble, or the American classic, pumpkin pie!

We celebrated this occasion by going around the table and sharing what we are thankful for today. This was a very special moment filled with gratitude and thanks for our families, friends, our cozy home at CDL, and the opportunities provided to us.

South Korean International Dinner

Dear All,

Tonight, we enjoyed a South Korean-inspired feast!

The dining hall was decorated with South Korean flags, and the aroma of perfectly fried chicken filled the room. The menu included Korean fried chicken with a deliciously sticky sauce, mountains of noodles, scallion pancakes, fried tofu as a vegetarian option, and for dessert, a delicious bar of ice cream covered in a fruit purée! Of course, we also had gochujang, a popular Korean condiment, on the side to add to the delicious mix of flavours.

This meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we can’t wait for next week’s International Dinner–Lebanon! Keep an eye out for more mouth-watering photos.

Dinner at Home – Burgers!

Dear All,

Tonight at St. Loup 4 & 9, we enjoyed a deliciously satisfying dinner at home.

The main stars of the menu were the juicy burgers with cheese, caramelised onions, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup as topping options, making this meal entirely customisable! For sides, we had perfectly roasted baby potatoes and refreshing coleslaw. Dessert? Chocolate chip cookies, of course!

International Dinner – China!

Dear all,

This evening, we were treated to some incredible Chinese cuisine! The menu had a wide variety of options, including crispy prawns (a very popular choice!), stir-fried beef, sweet and sour chicken, vegetables with tofu, mountains of noodles and rice, and to top it off, pineapple fritters for dessert.

This meal seemed to be a favorite among students, with many going back for second plates. Adding to our experience were chili crisp oil and dipping sauce, making this meal especially delicious. Plus, we all got to practice our chopstick skills!

An interesting fact about China: did you know it is the largest nation in the world that has only one time zone?

Check out some photos of our tasty experience below!
