Exploring the Sky! 🌌

A couple of days ago, Rodrigo surprised us with a drone he got during his holidays between Mexico and the States. Today, he spent a nice time outside the house using it and exploring the surroundings with Firdavs and Kike. They used it as well, which demonstrates how generous and friendly he is!

With this drone, they can see the house from above and even prank some of us (yes, I have had a “suspicious” drone behind me a couple of times…I guess whose it is! But the truth is that in this way they get to spend more time together, laugh and discover tucked away places to explore in a nearby future. Guess we will have to organise another spooky walk if they find an interesting place to visit! πŸ‘»

It’s gonna take off in no time! πŸ›«

Firdavs was learning how to use it, and Rodrigo was a good mentor! πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš€

November Boarding Assembly & Celebrating Javi’s Success!

This evening we had our first Boarding Assembly since coming back after the break!

We had a lovely piano performance by Sedef from Villa du Lac, who played Valse by Evgeny Grinko to start off our assembly.

We also celebrated Javier for his stellar performance in a Horse Riding competition back in Mexico, that qualified him to represent his country!

Winter is definitely here, so getting a bright photo of our lads dressed up is tough.

Celebrating our sports successes. There’s Javi on the right!

This is the final that was broadcasted on national television!

Buon Appetito!

This evening we enjoyed some delicious Italian cuisine for out international dinner!

We had Ossobucco, Parmigiana di Melanzane, and some cheesy Gnocchi – a hearty and warming meal for a chilly night.

Did you know the typewriter was invented in Italy??

Study Buddies.

This afternoon, the boys sat down to prepare for their upcoming summatives with Mr. Victor and Mr. Manuel beside them to offer support and to answer any questions they may have.

While the boys are being studious, we find it quite fun because it allows us to work parts of our brain that we haven’t had to use since we were in High School our selves!

Fully Booked!

What’s one way to go on an adventure without taking a single step?

Picking up a good book!

Reading is an immensely enriching experience that helps our boys explore new worlds, ideas and, of course, vocabulary.

Javier traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1965 with some greasers, Adrian made his way to Surrey Street in Plainview, Massachussets with the Wimpy Kid and I found myself in Alagaesia with a bunch of dragon riders.

Some new words from today’s reading include: antiquities, meteor, pacifier, dazed, archeologist and muttered.

Fright Night!

As I unfortunately missed Halloween with the boys – which happens to be my all time favorite holiday! – I made up for it by taking the lads out this evening for a spooky evening walk in the woods near by.

We trekked down the road and headed into the woods, where everyone turned off their flashlights and set off on an a little dark adventure. We traversed tunnels, crossed bridges, sang some songs, stepped in puddles and got a little muddy, but what fun it was!

As the path commences

Loving that blurry aesthetic. Blurry smiles, but smiles nonetheless.

A little flash photography to ruin the night-vision they developed.

Sweet Start to the Weekend: It’s Pancake Saturday! πŸ₯ž

Another weekend in the Concha Boarding House that starts in a sweet way: pancakes! 🀩πŸ₯ž

Mr Tarun got everything needed to prepare the best pancakes the kids could have ever tried, from flour and milk to different toppings to make the pancakes tastier. While sitting around the table, we shared experiences and fun holiday stories. This is a nice way to connect with one another and discover new yet unknown aspects of each one of us. πŸ˜‡

As you might know, in the Concha Boarding House we are a bunch of foodies. That is the reason why we are thinking of preparing a more Swiss-style food evening in the house… You will see, it’s on the works! 🀫

P.S.: By the way, it’s all of us in the house again! Rodrigo just arrived today from his autumn break. After having some lovely weeks of holidays between Mexico and the United States, he has enough energy to keep on being the brilliant student he was before the break! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Mr Tarun was so concentrated while making the pancakes!

Look at this crew! πŸ€ͺ
