Weekend Activities

This was our first weekend all together as the Concha Annexe Boarding House in 2023 !!!
The boys took part in different activities;

  • Diego tried Climbing, for the first time in his life, and he really enjoyed this sport that requires focus, precision and  a lot of coordination.
  • Jamil is a regular member of the Running Club on Saturday mornings. We have the chance to have a running path way that follow the river La Versoix. It gives  the opportunity to the students to do sport in nature.
  • On Sunday, Armin, Lyam, Micha, Taha and Jamil went to an Escape Room Game in Geneva. in spite of our team effort and hard work , we still didn’t menage to beat the room and go out in less than an our. We will try better next time.

Dinner in the House

Tonight we had our first dinner in the House altogether.
We shared an Indian meal based on Rice and Vegetables.
We explained to them the importance of trying different types of food and took a moment to discuss our thoughts about spicy food. Each one of us had a different appreciation of what is “too spicy” 🙂

Happy Holidays – See you in 2023

The whole Concha Annexe Boarding House wish you Happy Holidays.

We are closing the Boarding House for the Holidays and will be back on the 7th of January. We wish you a Happy New Year and a lot of love, joy and peace for the upcoming Year.

To those who celebrate Christmas & Hanukkah, we wish you a great celebration with family and friends.

Winter Dinner

To wrap up the end of semester 1, the whole Boarding moved to the Marriott Hotel in Geneva to take the traditional Winter Dinner.

Well done to our boys who behaved super well that night. And thanks to the CDL Boarding organisation with Ms. Lucélia at the top of it.

L’Escalade

On the 12th of December, we commemorate L’Escalade.

In 1602, Geneva was coveted by the Savoyards. Charles-Emmanuel I intended to make Geneva his capital north of the Alps. Thus, he launched an attack on the night of 11-12 December with 2000 soldiers.

Armed with nothing more than courage and halberds, the citizens of Geneva, men and women alike, ran out of their houses to defend the city alongside the bourgeois militia and the city soldiers. They fought off the enemy using any means to hand. A number of stories recall the courage of la Mère Royaume who scalded one Savoyard with her pot of soup.

Since 1881, chocolate cauldrons decorated have been eaten at this time every year in honour of her bravery.

The tradition says that the youngest and the oldest have to smash the cauldron saying the sentence: “Ainsi périsent les ennemis de la République”.

First Snow !!!

Today is our first snow in Geneva but it is also the first time that our new student Diego sees Snow !!!

He was excited and impressed by the postcard image of our Boarding Life in Switzerland. Many more surprises are upcoming.

But for now, Let it snow !

Semester 1 Awards Ceremony

Yesterday, all the houses were called for the Awards Ceremony.

There was a difficult decision to choose only one student for each category, but this time Jamil deserved the medal in both categories for very little.

Well done to everyone, we have had a wonderful semester.
