The Great LDG 60 Marmite Smash!
Tonight, LDG 60 gathered for one of Geneva’s most iconic traditions: the breaking of the chocolate marmite for L’Escalade — a moment our house looks forward to every year.
In true Escalade spirit, the youngest and oldest students joined forces to carry out the tradition. This time, Mario and Hoodad stepped up for LDG 60, bringing energy, teamwork, and a lot of anticipation to the moment.
As everyone crowded around, the room buzzed with laughter and excitement. Then came the famous words:
“Ainsi périrent les ennemis de la République!”
With a swift strike, the marmite burst open — and chocolate scattered to the delight of the whole house.
Weekend Moments and Reunions
Despite the grey skies and soggy weather, the weekend at Louis Dégalier 60 was filled with warmth, energy, and a few memorable surprises.
One of the highlights was welcoming back Artem, a Dégalier graduate who stopped by to visit. His return brought smiles and a sense of continuity to the boarding house, and it was wonderful for the students to reconnect with a familiar face.
Inside the house, the atmosphere was both productive and relaxed. Many students made excellent progress on their schoolwork, using the quieter weekend hours to focus and catch up. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper weekend without a touch of creativity, so everyone enjoyed decorating gingerbread—adding a festive and fun moment to balance the study time.

Bad weather or not, it was a weekend filled with community, effort, and a bit of sweet seasonal spirit at Louis Dégalier 60.

Mario’s Tanzania Adventure
Mario had an unforgettable experience in Tanzania, filled with adventure, learning, and cultural exchange. His group helped build goat shelters, install solar panels, and make traditional clay stoves alongside local villagers. They also shared school supplies and played a joyful soccer match with local children.
Highlights included celebrating Mario’s birthday at Shamba, exploring a fair-trade coffee plantation, and camping under the stars. The safari in Tarangire National Reserve was a true thrill — with zebras, elephants, lions, and giraffes!
The trip ended in Zanzibar, where the group enjoyed swimming, visiting the Salaam Cave Aquarium to learn about sea turtle conservation, and joining a lively Maasai dance show.
An inspiring journey full of teamwork, discovery, and unforgettable memories! 🌿

Fresh Swiss Air at Boarding
This weekend, our Boarding community set off to Verbier, one of the most iconic villages in the Valais canton. Under brilliant sunshine, students enjoyed a full program of activities, including mountain biking, rock climbing, basketball, a quiz game, and nature hiking.
The day was filled with energy, laughter, and fresh Alpine air—an opportunity to challenge ourselves, discover new skills, and strengthen friendships. We closed the weekend with a barbecue before returning to campus, recharged and ready for the upcoming Discovery Days.

Graduation weekend at Collège du Léman was everything we hoped for. Our Louis Dégallier graduates celebrated the end of their academic journey and the beginning of the next chapter of their lives. Friends and family gathered at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices to watch our class of 2025.
We wish you the best of luck wherever life takes you next. May you carry with you the cherished memories and values instilled at Collège du Léman.
Thursday Night Feast
The LDG60 scholars made the most of their social time today, returning to the house with a selection of local produce. Louis, in true French style, sampled a particularly pungent cheese that required some ventilation after being opened. Meanwhile, Dima and Grejdi teamed up to prepare a protein-packed meal. Sharing a meal together in the evening has become a cherished tradition among the group, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.
