🍂October Break 2025 – Wander, Rest, Recharge🍂

The first half of the term is officially behind us, and October Break is finally here, a well-earned chance to pause, breathe, and set off on new adventures.

Some of our Portena girls are heading home to spend time with family and recharge. Others are about to embark on unforgettable trips , from the sunny vibes and colorful streets of southern Spain to the wild beauty and once-in-a-lifetime adventures in Tanzania.

Wherever this break takes you, we hope it’s filled with discovery, rest, and moments that will stay with you long after you return. Take this time to slow down, explore, and enjoy every second!❤️

Have a wonderful October Break, we can’t wait to hear all about it when you’re back!

Fall Break (No Classes) - Lee University

Panthers Victory!!

What an exciting afternoon for our school’s football team! With a well-deserved 3–0 victory, our girls secured their place in the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the Nations–Le Rosey match in early November.

A special mention goes to Chihana, whose contribution was instrumental in tonight’s success. Despite her ongoing commitment to Servette M18, she made the thoughtful decision to support her school team, where she also plays an important role. It was not an easy choice, but her determination to help the team reach the finals truly reflects her dedication and team spirit.

She returned from the match with a wonderful smile, proud of what the team achieved together. It’s inspiring to see how the girls’ hard work, collaboration, and passion continue to drive them forward. We’re all cheering for them as they head into the next stage — go team! 💪🏆

🥞PANCAKE PANDEMONIUM: Portena House Edition🎬🔥

Move over, Gordon Ramsay – there’s a new kitchen crew in town, and we’re bringing the heat (literally… maybe too much). What started as a simple cooking turned into a full-blown flipping adventure.

There was smoke (don’t worry, the house is fine), questionable pancake shapes (one may have been a dinosaur?🦖), and so much laughter we almost forgot to cook. We got it all on video so you can witness the culinary brilliance.

Michelin stars? Not yet.
Memories and mayhem? Absolutely.
🥄👩‍🍳 Watch at your own risk – you might get hungry or cry-laugh.

Busy Days, Happy Hearts🩷

This weekend was, as always, full of activities!
We didn’t stop for a second, between tennis, pilates, stretching, art club, cooking class, and even a fun color run and an outing to the laser tag in Geneva🤖
Between lots of laughs, quality time with friends, and even a little bit of rest, we reached the end of the weekend — and now we’re ready for Monday to arrive… almost ready😜

Celebrating Jodee & Violetta’s Birthdays! 🥰

Today we celebrated two special birthdays! It was Jodee’s actual birthday, and she spent a wonderful day in Geneva with her friends. In the evening, we surprised her with a small cake so she could blow out her candles on her special day.

We also celebrated Violetta’s birthday, which was last Thursday. Since she couldn’t be in Portena on her actual day, we wanted to make sure she could enjoy a little party too. With her housemates gathered around, she also got her chance to blow out the candles and make a wish.

We’re so happy to have both Jodee and Violetta with us. Here’s to many more birthdays together, filled with joy, laughter, and friendship! 🎂✨

Best,

Portena team

Happy birthday JJ!! 🎂

Today we celebrate JJ’s birthday! Even though she joined us a little later than the rest, she has quickly become part of the family. Her bond with her Portena roommates is already strong, and it feels like she’s been with us much longer.

We hope she continues enjoying this year with us, sharing special moments both in and outside of Boarding. Here’s to many more birthdays together – happy birthday, JJ! 🥳

With love,

Portena team 💖

RESPECT for Primary and Middle school

This Tuesday marked the beginning of something new in our boarding community: a dedicated evening to come together, share, and grow as one.

Our Primary and Middle School students gathered to reflect on a big word: RESPECT. Through discussions, activities, laughter, and even a little bit of fun craziness, we worked together to shape our own definition of what respect means and how we can live it every day.

It was an amazing evening — not only because of the joy in the room, but because it felt like the start of a new tradition. From now on, Tuesdays will be our day to gather as a community, and what better way to begin than by learning to respect and truly know one another.

Here’s to many more Tuesdays filled with growth, connection, and shared values! 🌟
