This evening we got the opportunity to watch and enjoy our fellow boarders talents!
From dancing to singing, everyone enjoyed all the performances and well done to all – especially to our Old Portena girls who did an amazing job up on the stage!
Last night, former Old Portena boarders Manuela, Darina, Rin and Paria came to visit the house. They talked to our grade 8 students about what it’s like transitioning from middle school to high school, and also about the grade 9 choices.
Thank you so much girls for taking the time to talk to the younger students and answering any questions they had!
Another weekend has gone and passed, and as usual the girls chose to do their usual activities like tennis, chess and baking. Mia, Lily and Ashley also enjoyed a few hours of shopping in Geneva.
Meanwhile, Chihana had a busy few days in Budapest where she participated in the Nord Anglia Basketball and Football tournament with the CDL Panthers football team. Chihana and her team won first place in the tournament – very well done girls!
Elsewhere, Vlady went on a trip to Rome with other boarders. She got to see the beautiful sights the city has to offer, and even got the opportunity to watch a Six Nations match between Italy and Wales.
Looking forward to the next weekend!
The fourth pillar of our wellbeing programme is all about the important topic of online safety. With kids using the internet from such a young age, it is more important than ever to teach them how to be vigilant online.
For this particular pillar, we have our very own advocate, Lily, who will help lead the discussion during our wellbeing meetings. Thank you Lily!
Our first takeaway point for this pillar is Online life vs Real Life. Our advocate hosted a quiz in our house to help the students start to think about their life online. How much time do they spend online daily? How do they choose to interact with friends? Do they live in the moment, or through a lens? etc. Also thinking about the balance they have in their life between time spent online and the elements of Pillar 1, which was about Nurturing Healthy Bodies and Minds.
While most of our girls spent the February break with their families, Ran, Chisa, Chihana, Ashley and Mia went up to the mountains in Crans Montana for the Winter Camp. They spent the week enjoying the slopes and doing fun activities. They all had a great time and now they’re having a chill weekend after the busy week!
