With a big thank you to Mrs Gilbert who gave us a keyboard to practice on today, the keyboard has had to work hard tonight! So many lovely pieces of music were heard this evening (you can hear them on the links above)! We are looking forward to hearing more every day!
After dinner we learn how to play in the piano, flute, violin to learn new things for school. And then we go for our free time. 
Tomorrow I’m going to Les Mosses for two days with other grade 9. This is our first trip and is or us to get to know each other better. We are going to go hiking, climbing, swimming and more other sports. I am very excited to have lots of fun with my friends outside of the classrooms.

Our girls did a fantastic performance of their House Cheer at the competition and tied for fourth place overall! A fantastic start to the House Competition, let’s see if we can retain the House Trophy this year!

Ayaka and Margie are doing a great job with the younger students in Old Portena helping them with their homework and to be organised for school. Ayaka and Margie are working towards their REACH hours each night for the areas of Responsibility: Eco Friendly: Active: Creativity: Helpfulness. We are very proud of their efforts already!

This weekend new skills were learnt on the tennis court and the real twins had some competition from Herluce and Irina who dressed the same way on Saturday and Sunday without realising it! 🙂
Last night, all boarding students were invited to the welcome assembly and dinner. This was a chance to dress up nicely, be welcomed back into the boarding community, and eat some tasty food from around the world whilst listening to some Jazz music.
A very enjoyable evening was had by all – many thanks to those who helped to organise it!
Our activities manager, Diego, kindly organised some activities for the students in boarding to help the new boarders make some new friends both within their own house and with other houses.
First up was the activities afternoon!
Thankfully, the sun was shining and the girls were able to enjoy some volleyball and frisbee. When the heat was a little too much, the shade provided a welcome resting spot for them to chat to the other students.
Next up, the treasure hunt!
Despite the rainy weather, the girls donned their jackets and took part in the treasure hunt. They were given clues about a certain location in the school campus. The aim was to get to the location, find the next clue to decode and race to the following location. We tried our best, and finished the race in Concha for some social time with the other House teams.
