L’Expedition Genevoise!

This lovely, sunny Saturday, I took Emir, Eduardo and Henrique away into town to handle some basic errands. Our initial journey took a longer turn once I found out that they basically only knew one street in town: Rue de Rive…

What started with a quick jaunt up through the old town over to Parc des Bastions ended at the Jardin Botanique! We walked over 22,000 steps (Emir said that’s the most he’s walked in one day in his life!)

You can juuuuust see us

I wonder what put such lovely smiles on their face?

After all the times over the last two years that his mother recommended for him to come here, Emir finally visited the UN!

Joe’s Triumph And Adrian’s Debut! ⚽️

As we all know, Joe plays for FC Versoix and is utterly devoted to his role in the club. He goes training on a daily basis and plays matches regularly. What is more, he has made a bunch of friends there, which allows him to get to know more people from the area and come into closer contact with the Swiss culture.

A few weeks ago, Adrian joined the football team too, as he is quite passionate about football as well. In fact, yesterday was his debut and it went quite well! Come on, Adrian, keep it up! 💪🏻

Just about to score a goal…

Go, go, go, Joe!

It’s yours, Adrian! ⚽️

Another Reading Club Thursday 📚

Another Thursday in which our Concha 8th graders gather after their evening shower to read their favourite books together. We sit for approximately 45 minutes and encourage them to note down those words that may be new for them as well as summaries of what they have read.

Some new words they have learnt today are wrecked, moan or wonder.

Mr Sam finds this moment truly inspiring!

Zhengtai and Fanbo were mesmerised by their books!

Tastes of New Zealand 🇳🇿

For today’s international dinner, it was the turn of New Zealand! 🙌🏻

The menu was tasty and varied and most importantly, the kids found it particularly enjoyable. The first dish was a Kumara salad with honey vinaigrette. It was then followed by a kiwi roasted lamb with potatoes. Last but not least, it was high time for the kids’ favourite part of the meal: the dessert! It is always nice to have something sweet after our meal, and in this case, they had the chance to enjoy a delicious kiwi pavlova and some red fruits.

All in all, a dinner to remember!

“Come on, Mr Tarun! We want to eat!”

Some of them even finished their plates some minutes after, impressive!

Look at those almost empty plates! They are definitely enjoying their dinner!

生日快乐 Fanyang!

Today we had the privilege of celebrating Fanyang’s 16th birthday!

He had a lovely day, with balloons in the morning, a lovely early dinner with some of his close friends in afternoon, and a surprise cake with the Concha lads in the evening!

Some early morning wishes

A lovely dinner in Geneva!

We had the cherry cake for the first time, it was delicious!

Shoot, Score, and Play Some More!

As part of their routine, the Concha Boys cannot help but go out and do some sport together. However, the weather has not been ideal for outer activities this week, so the boys have headed to the Olympus basketball pitch to play some basketball matches together. Others preferred to go to the gym as well as take part in the May Fitness Challenge, in which every day a new sport challenge is presented and the boys have to compete against all the boarding community. At the end of the month, those who won the highest number of challenges will get a special prize!

No Rest For The Concha Boys This Weekend! 🙌🏻

Most of us think weekends are the perfect time to get some rest after a busy week, but the Concha Boys have a different vision of them!

Not only do they sign up in the boarding activities offered – such as tennis, golf, cooking or cycling – but also go to Geneva for shopping or food in their favourite places. They also got the chance to do sleepovers in rooms (don’t worry, everything was tidied up) and make use of the Concha garden to play some football or basketball. There was also time for some study time on Sunday, in which the kids could catch up with finals and prepare everything for the coming week.

All in all, a busy and productive weekend ⚡️

On Saturday, Javier and Firdavs had dinner in a fancy restaurant in Versoix! 🍽️

Gianni was on the hunt for the perfect outfit 🔎

There’s always time to play some basketball for these two! 🏀

Before going out, Javier wanted to put his football skills to the test ⚽️

Zhengtai prepared some fish at the cooking class 🐟

Léman Journey Training Session 🏁🚲

As some of you might know, the kids will be cycling all around the Lake Geneva (Lac Léman in French) on the weekend of the 6th-8th June. After getting some induction sessions about this initiative, the Léman Journey training sessions have started and our Concha boys are working hard to reach the objective!

Today, it was their first day of training. They were taken around school and nearby areas, such as Mies and Tannay, where they could try different types of environment: road, forest, countryside, etc. Boarding staff such as Mr Stéphane, Mr Mike, Mr Jack, Mr Sergio, Ms Ana and Ms Cristina guided them through and helped them out when needed. They are preparing our kids accordingly and we can assure you they will nail it in June!

Some explanations of what was about to come before starting!

Look at all these beautiful bikes! 🚲

Firdavs was ready to give it all!

Come on, Mr Martin!

Fanbo got on the bike before anyone else. Someone wanted to go for a ride so badly!

Everything ready to leave?

We love seeing those happy faces

Almost there, guys!

From Concha To International Stages (soon)! 🎧

It’s been a while Emir is passionate about DJing. Although he already proved he is talented enough at the Winter Ball, his skills are improving every single day as he practices quite a lot whenever he has some free time.

Since everyone in school he is pretty much into music and he is talented enough – and we are certain he will be even more talented in just a matter of time – he will be performing at the International Day on Friday May 23rd, where he will be playing Afrohouse with the help of Eduardo.

Stay tuned for more news about the Future #1 DJ Emir! 💪🏻

Someone is taking this seriously! 🤩

Do you think DJing is difficult? Come to Concha and Emir will teach you the basics!
