Grand Prix Race – CDL Day

It’s always great to see people come together for a good cause. Running for Mental Health Awareness is an important initiative, and it’s great to see that Adam, Lael, Ilya, and James participated and did well in the Grand Prix Race.

 

๐Ÿ˜ Cloudy but fun weekend ๐Ÿธ๐ŸŽพ๐Ÿง—โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿซโ™Ÿ

This past weekend at Olympus was a weekend of adventure and exploration, as students took part in various activities such as badminton, tennis, basketball, climbing, a trip to Gruyรฉres, Maison Cailler chocolate factory, and chess.

The badminton and tennis courts were alive with students playing matches against each other. It was an excellent opportunity for students to work on their footwork and serve while enjoying friendly competition. Some of the more experienced players even offered tips and advice to those new to the sport. Tim, Richard, Ivan, Gary. Billy and Murat had a nice badminton time as well as Bohdan in tennis.

The basketball court was filled with students playing games and practising their dribbling and shooting skills. The excitement and energy were contagious, with students cheering each other on and pushing themselves to do their best. Tim, Lael and Murat enjoyed a wonderful basketball time.

At the climbing wall, students challenged themselves to reach new heights and push beyond their limits. There was a sense of camaraderie as students encouraged each other to keep going, and many of them left feeling proud of their achievements. Aleksei and Herman had a great climbing time.

The trip to Gruyรฉres and Maison Cailler chocolate factory was a highlight of the weekend, with students getting the opportunity to explore the beautiful Swiss countryside, learn about Swiss culture, and indulge in some delicious chocolate. They also got to see how the chocolate was made and tried different flavours, which was a fun and educational experience. Otabek enjoyed this amazing trip.

Finally, the chess club was in session as students gathered to play matches with each other. There was a friendly and competitive atmosphere, with students honing their strategic and critical thinking skills. Nikolai, Artem and Adi had a fun chess games.

Overall, this weekend at Olympus School was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their interests and develop new skills. Whether playing sports, climbing, or learning about Swiss culture, students had a great time and came away with new experiences and memories that they will cherish.

House Dinner in Olympus

The dinner at the Olympus boarding house was absolutely delicious! Baked chicken is a classic dish that is always sure to please, and when paired with a fresh niรงoise salad, it makes for a healthy and flavorful meal. The addition of a creamy and indulgent potato gratin is the perfect complement to the savoury chicken and fresh salad, creating a well-rounded and satisfying meal.

And of course, no meal is complete without a delicious dessert, and the chocolate eclair sounds like the perfect sweet treat to end the meal on a high note. With its rich chocolate filling and light pastry shell, it is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Overall, it sounds like a wonderful meal that was expertly prepared and enjoyed in the cosy and welcoming atmosphere of the Olympus boarding house.

Olympus All Stars vs Olympus Gladiator โšฝ match

Today has been the wonderful Olympus All Stars vs Olympus Gladiator soccer match.

A wonderful football match can be an exciting and memorable event for both players and fans. The thrill of the game, the energy of the crowd, and the skill of the players can create an unforgettable experience. A wonderful football match can showcase the best of the sport, including teamwork, sportsmanship, and athletic prowess. It can also be a great way to bring people together, regardless of their differences, to enjoy a shared passion for the game.

International Dinner: Nowruz ๐Ÿ˜

Nowruz is a time for renewal, rejuvenation, and new beginnings, and the traditional foods served during this time reflect this spirit. One of the most important dishes is “sabzi polo mahi,” which is a fragrant and flavorful dish made with basmati rice cooked with fresh herbs such as dill, cilantro, parsley, and fenugreek, and served with fried fish. This dish represents prosperity and abundance, as fish is considered a symbol of fertility and rice is a symbol of wealth.

Another popular dish is “kuku sabzi,” a savoury herb and vegetable frittata made with eggs, parsley, cilantro, dill, scallions, and other greens. This dish is often served as a snack or appetizer during Nowruz celebrations.

Other Nowruz dishes include “ash reshteh,” a hearty noodle soup made with beans, lentils, herbs, and spices, and “dolmeh barg,” stuffed grape leaves filled with a mixture of ground meat, rice, herbs, and spices.

Talent Show ๐Ÿคฉ

Talent shows can be a fun and exciting way for students to showcase their skills and talents and for the school community to come together and celebrate their accomplishments.

For Olympus students, the talent show has been an opportunity to display their diverse talents, such as singing, dancing, acting, or playing musical instruments. Students may have spent weeks or months preparing for their performances, practising their routines, and perfecting their skills.

During the talent show, students likely experienced a range of emotions, from nervousness and anticipation before going on stage to excitement and satisfaction after their performances. They may have also felt a sense of pride and accomplishment as they received applause and positive feedback from the audience.

๐Ÿ™‚ Weekend fun! ๐Ÿ”ซ

This weekend our Olympus Boarding House boys enjoyed a lot, as always, of activities and free time inside and outside the house. On Sunday, in fact, a large group of our lads participated in a massive Paintball competition, standing out for their precision and teamwork.

Aleksei (pictured right) and Navi attend their weekly climbing session with discipline. In the last weeks they have improved their grip and balance a lot.

Nikolai and Bohdan (pictured right, with his twin brother) are becoming really good tennis players, as they practice every weekend. The latter was no exception, of course.

To round off the weekend in the best possible way, twelve of our Olympus boys took part in an intense game of Paintball. Throughout Sunday morning they proved that they are capable of using strategy and teamwork in equal measure to get the best out of themselves as a group.

 

 

 

Wellbeing Pillar 4: Online Safety – Scams, Security, Identity theft

Online safety is an important aspect of overall well-being in today’s digital age, and as part of Pillar 4 of the Wellbeing programme, we focused on scams, security, and identity theft.

Scams, security, and identity theft can all have serious consequences for students, ranging from financial loss to damaging one’s reputation or identity. It’s important to be aware of the different types of online scams that exist, such as phishing scams, malware and social engineering. By learning how to identify these scams and take appropriate precautions, individuals can better protect themselves and their personal information online.

In our House Meetings this week the Wellbeing Advocates delivered a presentation on How to identify scams and how to protect themselves.

They also did a Kahoot Quiz to see how informed they are about online safety. The questions were;

When shopping online, which payment option is generally the safest?
Facebook can freely use your photos if you do not decline this in your privacy settings- true or false

International Dinner: Portugal ๐Ÿ˜‹
