🌿 Prioritizing Student Well-Being: Healthy Habits Matter 💪🥗

At our Boarding School, we care deeply about the well-being of our students. Encouraging regular physical activity and healthy eating habits is a key part of our mission to support their overall health—both physical and mental.

We are proud to recognize Heloisa, who exemplifies this commitment. As part of our Pastoral Care program, she has maintained a consistent Sunday exercise routine and is an active member of the Stretching Club. Her dedication is an inspiring reminder that small, steady habits can lead to meaningful change.

“We are what we eat, and our bodies remember the habits we instill in them.”
That’s why we strive to empower our students to make conscious choices—nurturing both healthy bodies and healthy minds.

🥞 Sunday Brunch: Simply Delectable! 🥐✨

Every Sunday, our brunch brings together comfort and indulgence in the best way. From fluffy pancakes and warm croissants to savory delights and fresh fruit, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

This year, we’ve added something new: the Yogurt Bar, a tasty innovation promoted by our Dining Hall Committee. Students can choose from three different types of yogurt and customize their bowls with a colorful assortment of fresh fruits, dried fruits, and seeds—a refreshing and healthy addition to their brunch experience.

Our students gather with friends, relax, and enjoy the flavors—because Sundays are meant to be delicious! 🍓🍳

House Meeting at LDG56

During our house meeting before the Easter break, we met to discuss various topics, as usual. We started by enjoying some delicious Easter chocolates and continued by watching an important video from our boarding director, Mr. Usher, about the latest news.

We also discussed the upcoming charity event we will be holding in May, called the 24-hour running challenge, to raise funds for the cancer charity, as well as planned trips to Zermatt and Ticino, among others.

Finally, to close out Pillar 4 of our well-being program, Healthy Minds and Bodies, we will organize a basketball game between day students and boarders next Wednesday, where Villa LdG56 will be well represented.

Pillar 4: Healthy Bodies and Minds

During our well-being session—and following our previous discussions on nutrition and physical activity in the first two weeks—we explored the importance of mindfulness and its benefits.

The two key takeaway points for this week were: a) Understanding mindfulness and its benefits and b) Learning simple techniques to incorporate mindfulness into daily life.

We also watched a video created for the advocates of this pillar about the importance of mindfulness.
