House Meeting at LDG56

During our house meeting before the Easter break, we met to discuss various topics, as usual. We started by enjoying some delicious Easter chocolates and continued by watching an important video from our boarding director, Mr. Usher, about the latest news.

We also discussed the upcoming charity event we will be holding in May, called the 24-hour running challenge, to raise funds for the cancer charity, as well as planned trips to Zermatt and Ticino, among others.

Finally, to close out Pillar 4 of our well-being program, Healthy Minds and Bodies, we will organize a basketball game between day students and boarders next Wednesday, where Villa LdG56 will be well represented.

Celebrating CDL Day , Celebrate Differences !

To celebrate our school’s core values and support important causes, we held a variety of events on campus today!

One of the highlights was the annual Grand Prix running race around the school campus. The atmosphere was buzzing, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who took part—students, teachers, principals, and more. Well done, everyone! 🎉 Please , enjoy our video !!

Pillar 4: Healthy Bodies and Minds

During our well-being session—and following our previous discussions on nutrition and physical activity in the first two weeks—we explored the importance of mindfulness and its benefits.

The two key takeaway points for this week were: a) Understanding mindfulness and its benefits and b) Learning simple techniques to incorporate mindfulness into daily life.

We also watched a video created for the advocates of this pillar about the importance of mindfulness.

RISE Week & Spirit Week Celebration at Collège du Léman

RISE stands for Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence – the core values of Collège du Léman. With a diverse school community representing over 110 nationalities and cultures, these values are at the heart of everything we do. Respecting and celebrating diversity is a defining feature of our school.

This week, alongside CDL Day (taking place on Thursday, March 27th), we are celebrating Spirit Week! The student government has organized a special activity for each day:
Monday – RESPECT: Send a note of respect to someone.
Tuesday – INTERNATIONALISM: Wear your country’s colors.
Wednesday – SPIRIT: Twin Day – match outfits with a friend!
Thursday – EXCELLENCE: Wear anything CDL-related.
Friday – LEAVE YOUR MARK: Trace your hand on the poster and write your name inside.
Let’s make this a fantastic week filled with positivity, unity, and school spirit!

Pillar 4: Wellbeing – Healthy Bodies

During our wellbeing session, we talked about the importance of staying active and moving.
There are many benefits of physical activity, such as:
1-It improves mood and reduces stress.
2-It helps increase energy levels and concentration.
3-It strengthens the immune system.
4-It improves overall physical health.
5-It promotes better sleep.

There’s no doubt that incorporating physical activity into our daily routine has long-lasting benefits, helping us feel great, both physically and mentally. Staying active isn’t just an option; it’s necessary for a healthy lifestyle! 🌟💪
