Community Service at Collège du Léman, with Lusha and Sally

At CDL, we are deeply passionate about community service, and we strive to instill this value in all our students. The school’s REACH program encourages students to engage in Health and Activity, Responsible Citizenship, and Creativity. Each student is required to complete thirty hours of community service per year during their time at the school.

In the Boarding House, we provide various activities and opportunities for students to participate in events and projects to fulfil their community service requirements.

We want to thank Maria Carolina, Lusha and Sally for taking charge of collecting and sorting the trash today

Well-being Pillar 5, Making Safe and Responsible Choices. Week 3

Following our Pastoral program, tonight during our House Assembly, we focused on respect as a tool for conflict resolution, addressing the second key takeaway point of this Pillar 5.

The Advocates Team guided us through a video that explored how conflicts are inevitable, especially in a communal living environment like ours. The video emphasized respect as the foundation for healthy and effective conflict resolution.

By listening to others’ perspectives, remaining calm during tense moments, and seeking common ground, we learn that respect is essential for navigating challenges and strengthening our relationships.

Thursday Night Feast

The LDG60 scholars made the most of their social time today, returning to the house with a selection of local produce. Louis, in true French style, sampled a particularly pungent cheese that required some ventilation after being opened. Meanwhile, Dima and Grejdi teamed up to prepare a protein-packed meal. Sharing a meal together in the evening has become a cherished tradition among the group, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

A weekend full of wonderful experiences ✨

On Saturday morning, Duda took on the challenge of wake boarding on the stunning Lac Lèman 🏄‍♀️

Duda does a lot of surfing back home in Brazil, and is a very natural sportswoman so of course she made wake boarding look very easy indeed! On just her second go, she was standing up on the board! The instructor was very impressed with her ability and Duda absolutely loved it 🩷🙏

After her last attempt a few weeks ago, Heloisa was back in the kitchen making sushi again, this time – big maki rolls with a spicy sauce to accompany it 🍱

Heloisa also made the most of the beautiful weather by painting outside on the terrace. A very talented artist indeed 🎨✨

Lucy spent most of the week in Paris with her fellow IB students. An amazing school trip where they got to visit the famous landmarks, not only by foot, but by bike and boat! 🚲🛥️

The class also learnt how to do graffiti, and were given an allocated space to make their mark – Lucy and her friends did the ‘S’ in Paris! 🎨

Unsurprisingly, Lucy fell in love with this beautiful city and can’t wait to return🗼🥐

We were very happy to have her back in the house though, especially as she baked some delicious white chocolate & cranberry cookies – we decided the best way to enjoy them was fresh out of the oven with a glass of milk. Perfect 🩷

Well-being Pillar 5, Making Safe and Responsible Choices.Week 2

During this week’s house meeting, we focused on empathy—what it means, the challenges it presents, and why it matters. The Advocates Team guided us through a video that explores the concept of empathy and highlights key insights. Click HERE  to watch the video.

The main objective is to help students develop a deeper understanding of how empathy is formed and why it plays a crucial role in making safe and responsible choices.
