Sunday Brunch🥓🥞🥑🍎

Dear Community of the Collège du Léman,

Sunday brunch at our boarding school is always a highlight of the week, offering a delightful mix of dishes that satisfy every craving. The dining hall comes alive with a bit of everything; pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, and more. It’s a perfect balance of comfort food and lighter options, ensuring that everyone finds something to enjoy. The best part is the laid-back atmosphere, where students can linger over their meals and chat with friends.

What makes Sunday brunch even more special is the dynamic energy of the students coming and going throughout the morning. Many are engaged in activities before or after, so the dining hall has a flow of people; some arriving early to enjoy the full spread, while others slip in between events, grabbing a bite before rushing off to their next commitment.

Discovering Ghana: A Culinary Journey Through Culture and Tradition!

Dear Community of the Collège du Léman,

This Wednesday, our boarding school celebrated Ghanaian culture with an International Dinner that introduced students to the rich culinary traditions of this West African country. Known for its vibrant and diverse cuisine, Ghana offers a fascinating blend of flavors and ingredients that reflect the country’s history and cultural influences. One interesting aspect of Ghanaian food culture is the strong connection between meals and communal dining. In many Ghanaian households, food is often served in large, shared portions, encouraging togetherness and fostering a sense of community during mealtime.

Ghanaians also have a deep respect for food as a way of honoring tradition. For instance, certain dishes are prepared for specific occasions, like weddings or festivals, and the preparation often involves family and friends coming together to cook and share in the experience. This emphasis on unity and celebration is something we wanted to bring to life in our school’s dining hall—by not only serving traditional dishes but also creating an atmosphere of shared enjoyment and learning. Our team put their best effort into delivering an authentic experience, helping our students connect with the flavors and stories of Ghana, while also fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity. International dinner of the week : ITALY

Dear Community of the Collège du Léman,

This week’s international dinner at our boarding school took us on a delicious detour from the usual pasta and pizza we’d been expecting. Instead, we were treated to a true Italian feast, featuring ossobuco, a slow-braised veal shank in a rich, savory sauce. Alongside it, we had creamy polenta and soft, pillowy gnocchi smothered in a decadent cheese sauce.

We really enjoyed dinner, and it was a perfect reminder of how food can bring people together and transport us to another place and time. Please see some pictures below.

Halloween!

Dear Community of the Collège du Léman,

This Halloween, the dining hall was transformed into a lively celebration, with students arriving in all sorts of creative costumes! From spooky ghosts and classic witches to some hilarious and unique outfits.

The main attraction on the menu was a warm fondue with bread and charcuterie, we all enjoyed dipping and sharing around the fondue. For those who preferred something different, we had a selection of alternatives, including potatoes, fresh broccoli, and rice. And, as always, our ever-popular salad buffet offered plenty of fresh options for everyone. Please see some pictures below.
