Spicing Up the Evening: Mexican dinner!

Dear Community of the Collège du Léman,

Today, our boarding school hosted an International Dinner, and this time, we took a delicious trip to Mexico! The dinner featured a variety of classic Mexican dishes, including tacos, nachos with guacamole, rice, and burritos. The tacos were filled with tender meats and topped with fresh salsa, cheese, and a squeeze of lime. The nachos, served with creamy guacamole, were a hit, and the flavorful Mexican rice perfectly complemented the hearty meal.

For dessert, we indulged in bunuelos de nata, which were crispy fried dough treats lightly dusted with sugar. These sweet bites were paired with a rich, spicy chili con chocolate sauce that added a unique twist to the traditional dessert. The combination of sweetness and heat was a delightful surprise, making for a memorable finish to the meal.

The International Dinner was not only about enjoying great food but also celebrating Mexican culture and bringing everyone together. The lively atmosphere was filled with conversation, laughter, and an appreciation for the rich flavors of Mexico. It was a fantastic opportunity to bond over food, explore new tastes, and make lasting memories with friends. Here’s to many more cultural dinners in the future!

Flavors of Argentina: International dinner!

Dear Community of the Collège du Léman,

Today, our boarding school was transported to Argentina with a delicious dinner that showcased the best of Argentine cuisine. We kicked off the meal with Ensalada Criolla, a fresh and zesty salad made with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, and a tangy dressing. The vibrant flavors were the perfect start to what was about to become an unforgettable feast.

The main course featured Guiso Criollo de Beef, a rich and savory beef stew that was cooked to perfection with tender beef, vegetables, and spices. This hearty dish truly captured the essence of Argentine comfort food. Alongside the stew, we also enjoyed Empanadas, savory pockets of pastry filled with seasoned meat, onions, and spices. They were crispy, warm, and absolutely delicious, adding an extra layer of flavor to the meal.

To end the dinner on a sweet note, we savored Flan de Dulce de Leche, a creamy caramel flan topped with rich dulce de leche. It was the perfect dessert to conclude an amazing meal. The evening was a wonderful celebration of Argentine culture, filled with great food, lively conversations, and lasting memories. We can’t wait to explore more international flavors in the future!
