Badminton Workshop

Leman 2 is a House of Badminton players. Six of our boys joined this week-end’s workshop and perfectionned their skills in this exciting and demanding sport. Our “team” was composed of Kotaro, Keitaro, Edward, Iman, Taichi and Nobu. Super job, boys.

What is Bullying? What can we do to tackle it? – Poster Making

During this week’s well-being session, we continued working on the second pillar of well-being – protecting against bullying and respecting diversity.

This week, we paid particular focus to the extremely important topic of ‘Bullying’.

In each session, each group were split into two to design different posters to be displayed around the school. One poster was to define what bullying is and to identify the different types of bullying. The second poster was to state the different ways and ideas in which we can try and tackle and prevent the issue of bullying.

It was fantastic to see the boy’s working together and coming up with some great ideas. The importance of protecting against bullying was certainly reinforced. Great work boys.

Boarding House Competition – Masterchef

The latest instalment to the Boarding House competition was the Masterchef competition which took place this weekend. Thank you to Amirhossein and his team for preparing a fantastic Iranian dish. The positive attitude, effort and spirit we received from the boy’s was amaying to see.

The Leman 2 boys are doing very well overall in the competition and currently sit in 2nd position – just 60 points behind the current leaders, Leman 1.

Keep up the good work boys.

Did you know that…

Did you know that England colonized 25% of the world?

Did you know that Angola’s former president ruled the country for over 40 years?

Did you know that in Jordan and Iran there are two different types of Muslim religion?

Did you know that China has over 5000 years of history?

Did you know that Chernobyl was a huge disaster in Ukrainian history and that it happened 33 years ago?

Did you know that Indian’s Diwali is originally a celebration about a son getting back home to his parents?

Did you know football was invented in England and that the Tea tradition in UK was introduced there by a Portuguese princess?

All these are some of the things we shared and learned today in our session about Diversity. Sharing parts of our culture and countries is a way of putting forward our unity and developing a sense of respect. The boys say they feel that respect of diversity is one of the strengths of this school. The R of our Rise motto ( Respect ) is something we take seriously and the good atmosphere in the Boarding Houses is nice example of how rich we are to have so many different students, living together in a peaceful and friendly manner.

Practice and evolve

One of the things that makes us proud is to see our students getting better in areas they are passionate about. Yida’s tennis skills are visibly impressive and the quality of his game as been noticed by our coach. This is representative of the Spirit ( from RISE ) that we want our students to put in place. Well done to Yida for being so reliable, enthusiastic and for all the effort 🙂
